Basic Floral Design 1 & 2 (BD 1 & 2) is a two week program that covers the three major areas of the floral industry: basic floral design, sympathy tributes and wedding designs. Program include lectures, demonstrations and hands-on studio time. Classes run 9am - 5pm Monday through Friday for two consecutive weeks. Tuition $995.00 Basic Floral Design 1 (BD 1) This first week program covers the basic elements and principles of design, pricing, theory of design and shop management concepts. Tuition $565.00 Basic Floral Design Short Course This option covers the first three days of any Basic Floral Design 1 program. Tuition $375.00 Basic Floral Design 2 (BD 2) * This second week program starts with sympathy tributes on Monday and Tuesday and continues with wedding designs Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Tuition $565.00 Basic Funeral Short * This program option covers only the funeral portion of any Basic Floral Design 2 class on Monday and Tuesday. Tuition $250.00 Basic Wedding Short Course * This program covers the last three days of any Basic Floral Design 2 program, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Tuition $375.00 European Designs * This one day program covers the concepts of three European design styles: Parallelism, Formalinear and Vegetative designs. Tuition $125.00 Creative Vase Workshop * This one day program covers mechanics and concepts of creating unique vase designs. Tuition $125.00 Designs $35 & Under * Learn creative concepts and techniques for updating everyday designs that will make your work stand out. Tuition $125.00 * Individuals who have not had professional floral design training or worked in a flower shop as a professional designer must complete Basic Floral Design 1 before taking Basic Floral Design 2. Once an individual has completed Basic Floral Design 1 then he or she may attend any program offered by the Vermont Academy of Floral Designs.*New...Public Design ProgramThis special one day design class is designed for the individual who would like to learn more about the art of floral design for their own personal use. This workshop will focus on the concepts of the all-around design styles. Learn how to use your everyday household containers and accessories to customize your designs. $165.00Sanctuary of BloomsPublic workshop for individuals who work with church flowers or wants to help do flowers in their church, no prior training is required.
